Graduation Ceremony of the Third Cohort

The graduation ceremony of the 3rd cohort took place on 10 September 2026. The graduates began their day by attending Graduation Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the 3rd Cohort, hosted by the SBBE Project Coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Izabela Pawlaczyk-Graja, represented Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. Invited guests included Prof. Kamil Staniec, Vice-Rector of WUST;  Prof. Piotr Rutkowski, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry; Assoc. Prof. Tomasz Hardy, the Vice-Dean of Faculty of Mechanical and Power Engineering; and Vice-Deans of the Faculty of Chemistry: Prof. Joanna Cabaj and Assoc. Prof. Agata Łamacz. Representing the  University of Castilla-La Mancha were: Prof. Juan Francisco Rodríguez Romero, representing the Rector of UCLM and the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Chemical Technologies; Prof. Ana María Borreguero Simón, local coordinator; and Prof. Manuel Salvador Carmona Franco. Representing Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology were its local coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Kristian Melin, and Assoc. Prof. Ikenna Anugwom. Teaching staff involved in the educational process, especially the MSc thesis supervisors of the SBBE students, as well as the graduates’ families and friends, also joined the celebrations.

During the ceremony, Prof. María Alejandra Cruz Salazar from Universidad de Las Américas (UDLA) in Ecuador delivered an invited lecture entitled “Emerging Perspectives and Future Directions in Sustainable Biomass Valorization: A Case Study from Ecuador”.

Three of our students received a special distinction in recognition of their outstanding performance during their two years study in the SBBE programme: Lamija Ahmetović, Leandro Augusto Costa Magalhães, Muhammad Salman. Our warmest congratulations to all three graduates!

In the afternoon, the graduates, their guests, and staff closely involved in the SBBE project joined a cruise on the Odra River. It was an opportunity to look back on the joyful moments they had shared and to strengthen their bonds after a semester spent apart, during which the students developed their skills through the Master Project course.

We congratulate all the graduates and wish them every success in their future careers. Many of them have already received offers for PhD positions, including two who received support through Marie Skłodowska-Curie Scholarship Programme, as well as offers of positions in industry.,.
