You can buy the ticket in the bus/tram in the ticket machine with your card (you can choose the English language). ATTENTION!! You won’t receive the paper ticket from the machine!! In the case of the checking you have to scan your card because the ticket is written on you card.

It’s possible to buy the paper ticket on some bus/tram stops paid by money/card but then you have to validate your ticket in the bus/tram.

Spain, Aeropuerto Madrid-Barajas

First: travel from Barajas Airport to Atocha-Renfe train station

There are 4 ways to get from Barajas Airport to Atocha-Renfe train station:

By bus: the line 203 or Exprés Aeropuerto (Airport express) is the express line connecting the Atocha train station and the airport of Madrid-Barajas. Atocha bus stop (beginning/end of route) works only in daytime, 6:00h to 23:30h. Overnight, bus stop beginning/end of route is in central Madrid (Cibeles), and the bus is renamed as N27 Exprés Aeropuerto. By metro:  you need to take first LINE 8 to Nuevos Ministerios, then LINE 10 from Nuevos Ministerios to Tribunal and, finally, LINE 1 from Tribunal to Atocha-Renfe train station. More information at: https://www.metromadrid.es/es

By local train “cercanías”: local train network service “Cercanías” C1 and C10 lines connect the airport with Atocha-Renfe Station. The train station is on the terminal 4 floor -1, and is called Aeropuerto T4. To move to the other terminals there is a shuttle bus service connecting the terminals. By taxi: The price from the Madrid-Barajas airport to Atocha train station is a flat rate of 30€.

How to get to Lappeenranta and down should be replaced with the following:

All international students are asked to send their arrival information (name, mobile phone number, arrival date and time, and means of transportation) to LUT Student Services (arrival@lut.fi) no later than three weeks before the date of arrival. For this purpose, you will receive an arrival information form by e-mail during the summer. 

The Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology LUT is located in Lappeenranta and Lahti. The closest airport is Helsinki- Airport (https://www.finavia.fi/en/airports/helsinki-airport)

The students arriving at Helsinki airport have several possibilities to go to Lahti Campus.

By train:  Direct Express or Intercity as well as Commuter trains from Helsinki main Railway Station or Tikkurila to Lahti take an  hour. You can take a train also from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. More info.: Welcome on a journey together with us – VR (https://www.vr.fi/en)
