LUT University operates on four campuses in southern Finland. SBBE made a tour to visit the laboratories in Mikkeli and Lappeenranta. The algae lab in Mikkeli was kind enough to welcome us with liquids in all shades of green – the colors of the SBBE program!

Finland is a country of contrasts. While staying in Lahti, SBBE students have enjoyed temperatures from +90 oC in the sauna, and +4 oC in the ice swimming pond, down to -30 oC on the coldest days.

Ice hockey is an integral part of the Finnish culture. Here we are enjoying a game night by the ice hockey rink.
