Layer by Layer and Drop by Drop: 4th Cohort Discovers 3D Printing and Supercritical CO₂ in WPT

The 4th cohort visited the Wrocław Technology Park to visit the supercritical fluid extraction lab and get introduced to 3D printing technologies. To ensure everyone had an up-close and interactive experience, students were split into two smaller groups.  The introduction to 3D Printing session provided an overview of manufacturing. SBBE students got a general understanding about how Computer-Aided Design models are exported and run through slicing software to generate paths for the printer. They also observed the actual printing process, where materials

SBBE 4th Cohort Builds Team Spirit on the Ice

There’s no better way to break the ice than, well, getting on the ice! Students of the 4th cohort of the SBBE program and several professors went ice skating – that was as much about friendship as it was about footwork.  It was a joy to hang out in such a relaxed setting, and we were glad to see that some of our better skaters had the chance to help a few colleagues gain their ‘ice legs’ and move away

Week of classes at NANORES

During the last week of September, 4th intake students had a wonderful opportunity to explore the world of atomic-scale imaging and surface analysis.  It was truly fascinating to see how FIB-SEM works — how precisely it can cut across layers — and how the environmental SEM allows imaging at temperatures from –20°C to +50°C, helping to observe structural changes in samples under different conditions. These classes at Nanores not only showed the students the amazing capabilities of surface analysis instruments
