Last Friday of January was an important day for the 4th cohort of SBBE students. As the first semester of their studies at Wrocław Tech. drew to a close, the group came together for a celebratory dinner that encapsulated the essence of their time at the university so far. Far from being a final farewell, it was a happy “do widzenia” to Poland before the students embarked on their next adventure in Spain for the second semester of their studies.

The 4th cohort of SBBE participated in an immersive industrial visit at PCC Rokita in Brzeg Dolny, Poland. The students were able to gain insights on industrial research and large-scale chemical production. In particular, they observed how lab-scale processes of polyurethane were transformed into industrial scale as foams. The 4th cohort visited the Wrocław Technology Park to visit the supercritical fluid extraction lab and get introduced to 3D printing technologies. To ensure everyone had an up-close and interactive experience, students were split into two smaller groups.  The introduction to 3D Printing session provided an overview of manufacturing. Students of the 4th cohort of the SBBE program and several professors went ice skating – that was as much about friendship as it was about footwork.  It was a joy to hang out in such a relaxed setting, and we were glad to see that some of our better skaters had the chance to help a few colleagues gain their ‘ice legs’ and move away

The 4th cohort students explored another essential dimension of Polish culture through a hands-on culinary workshop at the Polish Your Cooking studio. The session offered an immersive experience into traditional Polish cuisine, combining technique, teamwork, and cultural discovery. During the workshop, the students prepared classic pierogi filled with potatoes and mushrooms, carefully working on dough consistency and filling balance. Neither rain nor wind could stop the 4th cohort’s spirit!During a three-day trekking adventure in the Stołowe Mountains, our students set off by train to Kudowa-Zdrój, where they began their journey with a walk through the scenic Zdrojowy Park and an overnight stay in the town. The next morning brought clouds and steady rain, but that didn’t discourage the group — they bravely hiked to the iconic Szczeliniec Wielki and Błędne Skały, enjoying the mystical atmosphere of the rock labyrinths.

The 4th cohort students took part in an energetic and fun-filled sports activity at Go Jump in Wroclaw. The two-hour event was a perfect opportunity to take a break from academic responsibilities and strengthen bonds outside the classroom. Go Jump offered a fully equipped trampoline and activity park where students could challenge themselves physically while simply enjoying the moment.
